AGI-005-07 Viles Letters 3A-3-4

This collection consists mainly of letters written to Dr. Deral Viles by his parents R. B. "Doc" and Maude Patterson Viles. The Viles Family lived south of Halfway. Dr. Viles was a dentist in Bolivar as well as serving as a dentist in the Navy. These letters cover a period from August 1970 through March 1975 at which time Dr. Viles was stationed at Bethesda, Key West and Memphis. These letters give insight as to what life was like in Polk County during this time frame. Many names were mentioned in the letters but only births, deaths, and marriages are listed here. Also included are insurance papers and correspondence concerning the licensing of Dr. Viles in other states. This collection was "rescued" at a local yard sale during the summer of 2007 by a PCGS member and given to the library. Most of the letters from Dr. Viles parents are two pages in length with one page being written by mom and the other by dad.
