Finding Aids

 "Condit, Cooper, McNeish, Wickern Collection"

AGI-004-15               Condit, Cooper, McNeish, Wickern Collection              3C-5-1a

This collection was gifted to PCGS by Jim Root. Mr. Root says his mother found the items somewhere and had kept them, always intending to find the families, but instead kept them in a storage building. The collection was in very poor shape with lots of dampness, mold and mildew as well as deteriation of individual papers. Every effort was made to remove all dirt and grime to preserve the material. The collection consists of four ledgers belonging to Ephraim Cooper-his book dated 1825-26, David Condit Book dated 1850s & 60s, Jonas Cooper’s Account Book dated 1860s-80s, and Dr. John McNeish’s Ledger dated 1922-1930s. Also in the collection are several letters and other papers. To learn more about the families, PCGS volunteers researched the four families and that information is also included in this collection
